By their very nature, automated machines make it easier to do what was once a labor-intensive and expensive task.
These machines operate for hours without supervision and are often tasked with working through the night to maximize efficiency.
If something goes wrong during the process, the machines should automatically stop and wait for the operator to return, but what if that malfunction has caused a fire?
Not only are the expensive machines at risk, but the building and all occupants could be at risk, and in the absence of the operator there is no one to deal with the fire or notify anyone.
This is the role of the automatic fire extinguishing systems we offer.
So how does it work?
Our fire extinguishing systems use a patented detection tube that is installed around the risk area and connected to the cylinder valve. It is then filled with nitrogen and this pressure is used to hold the valve in the closed position.
If high temperature or fire occurs, the pressure pipes will burst and the cylinder valve will activate the system.
A switch is also added to the system which is held closed by the pressure. If the pipe bursts or the pressure is lost for any reason, the switch will open and automatically stop the machine.
Why choose this type of fire protection system?
The systems are manufactured according to ISO 9001:2015 quality system and are CE marked.
Firetrace offer affordable suppression solutions to protect CNC/EDM and automated machines. The system responds quickly, minimizing costly machine damage and downtime. The systems can be easily retrofitted to existing equipment and avoid the need for complex detectors and electronics.
Firetrace have been manufacturers of automatic fire suppression systems for over two decades and have extensive experience in the fire industry. We have a number of recorded cases where our systems have detected and extinguished fires on CNC and EDM machines, with little or no damage as a result.
We offer a range of packages including a full design and installation service and are recognised by most major insurance providers.
The Firetrace Solution
Firetrace have a range of automatic fire suppression systems ideal for protecting all types of automated machinery.
The systems use our unique patented linear detection tube which is installed in the risk areas of the machine.
This tube can quickly and accurately detect a fire whilst still being flexible and robust enough to withstand the harsh environments that often exist within them.
The systems do not require complex electronic detectors or panels and operate simply using pneumatics.
This alleviates the need for separate power supplies or battery backups, and also makes the entire system fail safe with minimal moving parts.
