Sprinkler systems

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Sprinkler extinguishing systems use a system of pipes filled with water under pressure. Critical to the functioning of these installations is good water in the protected zone to ensure the necessary pressure and velocity of water flow through the pipes to which sprinklers are connected. Enclosed heat sensitive automatic sprinklers indicate the occurrence of fire. When one or more of automatic sprinklers is exposed to heat, it is activated, allowing water to run through sprinklers. When water flowing through the system activates an alarm and indicate that the system is in operation.

MECHANISM

The mechanism of thermal transmission manages all stages of the combustion process, the appearance of fire until its suppression. Heated air from the fire moves to the upper room and heated through conduction of heat sensitive element in the sprinkler. When the temperature of the heating element that reaches operating temperature specified in the installation sprinkler is activated. It is extremely important to calculate process of thermal transmission, to determine the parameter of the sprinkler thermal sensitivity, which defines the speed of reaction of thermal element in the sprinkler and is one of the most important safety parameters in the calculation of fire sprinkler systems. Each sprinklers activated independently of one another when the sensitive element into account that the level of heat is reached.

PRINCIPLES THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED FOR SPRINKLER SYSTEMS INSTALLATION

Before installing any sprinkler system must be determined the extent of the danger of fire and calculate the water density parameter that determines the amount of water necessary for the protection of 1 square meter floor area from the danger zone. One of the most important steps to ensure the successful operation of the sprinkler system is also the choice of appropriate spraying nozzles. Due to the variety of characteristics including mode of discharge, discharge rate, spray distance necessary choice of nozzles to be performed by qualified professionals with any company FIRE EQUIPMENT LTD possession.

INSTALLATION OF SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

Water sprinkler systems can be installed wherever there is no danger of freezing water in the piping network. In unheated rooms where the ambient temperature is very low using the so-called. "Dry" sprinkler systems. When these tubes are filled with compressed air. To prevent entry of water in the pipes used control valves that are exposed to the air pressure and counter pressure of the water supply network. Where automatic sprinklers are exposed to heat, they are activated, releasing air. Changing the air pressure activated control valve and water enters the pipe system. Since the dispersion of water needed to fight fires after it releases air dry sprinkler systems are less effective in the initial stage of fire than water sprinkler systems.

EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE QUICKLY

Sprinkler extinguishing systems protect people and property from harmful effects of fire. They suppress fires in such a way that does not cause harm to people and allow them to leave the danger zone harmless. Sprinklers discharge approximately 90 gallons of water per minute, thanks to which cause significantly less damage than conventional fire panels, which emit about 900 liters of water per minute. Furthermore, sprinkler systems react immediately, while the use of common fire facilities are needed on average 8 minutes to reach the scene. This delay may cause significant damage from fire, fire growth and the need for more water for its suppression.
